- This whole cell cycle is mitosis.
- Interphase - The cell grows, replicates its DNA and prepares for mitosis.
- Prophase (Stage 1) - In this stage, the chromosomes condense and become visible within the nucleus.
- Prophase (Stage 2) - Here, the dissolution of the nuclear envelope occurs.
- Metaphase - Here, chromosomes attach to the spindle fibres at the centromeric region and arrange in the cell's equatorial plane.
- Anaphase - The centromeres and daughter chromosomes separate and begin to move towards the opposite poles of the cell.
- Telophase (Stage 1) - Chromosomes uncoil in this stage.
- Telophase (Stage 2) - Chromosomes are surrounded by new nuclear membrane.
- Cytokinesis - The cytoplasm of mother cell is divided into two daughter cells.
