The Cold War was an era/period of open conflict (rivalry) that developed almost immediately after World War II (Second World War). Also, it officially started between the United States of America and the Soviet Union on the 12th of March, 1947 and came to an end on the 3rd of December, 1989.

The message of the political cartoon was simply to describe the figurative wall (Iron Curtain) that was built by the Soviet Union (Joseph "Joe" Stalin) to divide the Capitalist West and Communist East.
