To write a good short play using stage directions, you'll have to create a theme and develop it using the plot.
What is Stage Direction?
This refers to the various instructions which is given to the characters during a play and also for the setting of stage.
The guidelines on how to write a short script of about twenty lines of dialogue which shows a clear conflict and theme is given below:
- First determine the characterization. This includes how many characters are involved, their roles, etc
- Next, set a predetermined theme. For example, let's say you are using a theme of love
- Next, you need to create dialogue between the characters
- You have to create enter and exit scenes
- The play has to come to a climax and then denouement follows, according to plot structure.
- Finally, make sure your play is consistent with your chosen theme
With this in mind, we can see that to create a mini play, there are several stages which needs to include dialogue, climax, etc.
