Amend.14 was created for equal protection under the law and citizenship. For African Americans to have the same rights as everyone else. Then the 15th amendment says the no matter race, color, or HAVING BEEN A SLAVE u have the right to vote. So the two situations in (my opinion) would be the harsh conditions and wanting to be treated equally
