Song lyrics that need honest opinions-----
SOMEDAY (by Jayda Javier):
VERSE 1
You say I have a choice
But you still make all of my future plans for me
Tell me to use my voice
Then shut me up once you get the chance, you see
You say I should be me
“Don’t change yourself for someone else, no”
But then force me to be
Someone that I don’t even know
PRE-CHORUS
Ooh, eventually I’ll be something great
Until that day comes, I guess that I can wait
CHORUS
Cause someday
You’ll regret the dreams
That you always took away from me
That you’d lock up and throw away the key
Saying, “dreams only ever take away”
And someday
The world will be mine
It will be worth every single rhyme
That I quietly kept inside my mind
The ones you would never let me say
POST-CHORUS
Yeah, someday
I will prove that you were wrong about me
And someday
They’ll sing a song about me
And it will go like
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Oooooooh, someday
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Oooooooh, someday

Answer:

The entire song is wonderful, I enjoyed the path the song took to show how the singer was being dragged in the dirt by someone and then showing how it will be regretted later on. The listener can tell that the singer is frustrated and yet sad by the way she is being discouraged by someone she loves. The Post-chorus shows a lot of where the hit of the song will fall under the "oohs" that are used will be powerful and be a show of emotion. The rhyme scheme was very good but the part within the VERSE 1 ""Don’t change yourself for someone else, no ”"But then force me to be Someone that I don’t even know"" sounds slightly choppy but that is mainly due because I cannot see/hear the melody lol.

Excellent job with the use of the shifting of ideas, many song writers struggle from going from one side of the topic to another but, you have proved to be a writer who can clearly get her ideas out and can fluidly move from one part to another even throughout the chorus and verses of the song.

This is very powerful and emotional song that can empathize with many listeners who are discouraged by loved ones. This is a song that a broad variety of people can listen to and feel relatable or can relate to the singer. You picked an excellent topic to write about.

Hats off to you writer! You did very well!

The melody that will be created with the post-chorus

Hope this helps!!! :D
