Orpheus sings beautifully with his melodious voice and a girl named Eurydice was drawn to him by his voice. Eurydice had a man who also likes her, so, he tried all his best to get her from Orpheus.

On one of his trials, Eurydice fell on a nest of snakes and was bitten by a deadly viper. Eurydice couldn't survive the bite and she died.

Orpheus was in pains about the death of his beloved wife and he approached the god of the underworld, Hades. Hades accepted Orpheus plea to return his wife but warned him that for no reason must he look back while his wife was still in the dark.

The moment Orpheus stepped out of the underworld, he couldn't contain the joy of hugging his wife and looked back at her. Unfortunately, his wife was still in the dark and she was drawn back into the underworld.
