A ball is dropped from the balcony. The flight path of a ball can be modeled by the equation
y = (x-4)2 + 7. Let y represent height in feet and x represent time in seconds. At what height is the ball
released?

Sagot :

Y=-1

Since y is the height it’s released at, it means x (time) must be at 0. If u place x=0 then you will get y=(-4)2+7 which leads to y= -8+7 which is then y=-1. It doesn’t really make sense since you can’t release the ball at a height of -1, but that’s what I made out of the equation.
