Ah yes, the joys of speech making! I know that it may seem uncomfortable for someone to "sell themselves" to the audience, but if you want to be elected, then you need to be as confident as possible! Here are some pointers about pushing you in the right direction:
1. Talk about your service to the school. School devotion lets the audience know that you are invested in making activities and events fun and memorable, which is very important for students.
2. Note your good qualities when it comes to work. Are you a team player? Are you a leader? What qualities make you stand out against the other candidates? This really works for the audience, especially if they are aware of who you are!
3. What do you plan to do when you are elected to the SSG? The audience wants to know your goals once you get elected in. Do you have a good idea on what to do, and the procedures to get what you promise?
4. Tell a little bit about yourself! How long have you been in the school? What activities are you in? Any out-of-school extracurriculars? This makes you appear more qualified and open-minded to a variety of different subjects, from sports to musical theater (for example)
You do not have to have any of this in that order, but this is a pretty good start (I used it to be STUCO candidate and won!). Best of luck, and I hope you get elected! :D
