EDIT: This answer was previously incorrect but has been fixed. Calculator confirmed as well. Thank you User emmab2457 in the comments for bringing this to my attention.

The reason the answer is not 1 is because in the term PE(MD)(AS) the Multiply/Divide construct as well as the Addition/Subtraction can be switched, and once reaching this step the equation is solved from Left to Right, no matter if division is before multiplying.
