You live in a different time and a different place than Freud did when he created his theories. Following that, the people and culture in your life are probably much different than those he studied. Furthermore, his ideas of the Id, Ego, or Superego can't be measured, along with the idea of the unconscious, are quite difficult to prove. Freud also emphasized conflict and childhood more than some agree with. Still, Freud's ideas on what affects your minds, repressed memories, and dreams are interesting to many today. Though his ideas can't be proven, many people in and outside the field of psychology encounter and consider his theories.

Despite differences in culture and society today, what ideas of Freud's do you think are still relevant today? Which do you think should be left in the past?
