Shakespeare’s plays attracted a lot of interest and he had the theaters flowing with audiences. William Shakespeare’s first two published works were in fact two long poems written in 1593 and 1594. Shakespeare then turned to writing plays because He enjoyed theater and he realized that he could also act in them. William Shakespeare wrote at 154 sonnets and 37 plays. Very little is known for certain about William Shakespeare, since William Shakespeare lived more than 400 years ago, and many records from that time never existed or were lost. We don't know everything about his life, what we do know about his life comes from registrar records, court records, wills, marriage certificates and his tombstone.
