In the poem the brother has a lot of pride in being best baseball player, and in this pride he made fun of his sister being a girl. He tried to show that boys are always strong and good players,but his sister gave a befitting reply to this unnecessary gender discrimination and taught him a lesson that girls are not weaker than boys in any subject.

A brief assessment of all the above things tells us that girls are trying to tell that they are not less than boys in any way, and they too can be knowledgeable and successful.
