actively participates in the learning

c. Labor-intensive (working long hours on the farm or


learning a trade)


4. Agricultural Era


d. Exploring and skill development (learning the lay of


the land and how they live in it)


5. 19th and 20th Century


e. Learning is the child's job, methods of discipline


became more humane, or at least less corporal, and


the teacher talks and the student listens
