1.3.9 Project: Complete Your Assignment
Your assignment has two parts. First, write a script for a 60-second video of Romeo and Juliet that communicates character, pacing, setting, plot, and conflict. Second, create a storyboard from your script that shows your cast and crew how to produce your video. You should work collaboratively with a group to complete both parts. Whether you actually film the script and storyboard depends on your teacher, the technology you have available, and your classroom situation.

Your assignment should include the following elements:

A script made up of carefully selected lines from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
A storyboard that shows how each scene should be shot
Plot, conflict, characterization, pacing, and setting

Ask yourself these questions as you revise:

Have my group members built consensus about the direction of the project? Does each member have a clear role with clear responsibilities?
Does my script clearly show which lines appear in which scene, and which characters speak the lines?
Does my storyboard make it clear how each scene will appear when performed and produced?
Is my production less than 60 seconds? Does it follow the overall plot of Romeo and Juliet, yet take a unique approach to telling the story?
Does my production have all the major elements of a narrative, including plot, conflict, characterization, pacing, and setting?
