Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian- science fiction by Ray Bradbury. Beatty from the novel uses a quote from Julius Cesar, which is ironic as it is the opposite of that of the noble and honest character of Brutus.
Who is Beatty?
Beatty is the captain of the fire department of Montag, is the most educated person but hates books, and is a devious and cunning person. He is the antagonist and is the superior of Guy Montag who is the protagonist of the story.
When he was being killed he quotes “There is no terror, Cassius, in your threats' which is ironic as Brutus also used this quote in Julius Ceaser, but he did all the actions for which he criticize the action of Cassius.
Therefore, this quote is used to show the opposite actions and nature of the person.
