In the great debate in 1787, the Federalists supported the Constitution and the Anti-Federalists did not support the Constitution.

Who were the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists?

There were two sides with different ideas about constitutional adjustment at a convention in 1787. Federalists lived in urban areas and anti-federalists in rural areas. Its founding fathers were Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, etc.

Regarding the declaration of rights, the federalists supported it but did not think it was relevant to the constitution, while the anti-federalists thought that they should be provided for in the constitution.

Each side had its economic ideas, while the Federalists supported the wealthier class, such as the national bank, the Anti-Federalists supported small businesses and farmers.

Therefore, federalists believed that power should be focused on federal power, anti-federalists advocated state power.
