What is lower Canada?

Th Lower Canada was the colony of the Britain which is the southern portion of present-day Quebec. The constitutions of the 1791 divided the country into 2 parts i.e. is lower Canada and the upper Canada.

The lower Canada had more serious revolt than the upper Canada which led to independence from the Britishers. Both the regions was inspired by the Durham report and eventually both the colonies merged into the single Province named Canada.

Thus the act of the Union was passed in the 1840 and the province came into as the united colony in 1841.
