The Gospel of John is that the fourth of the four canonical gospels. John reached its final form around AD 90–110, although it contains signs of origins dating back to AD 70 and possibly even earlier. just like the three other gospels, it's anonymous, although it identifies an unnamed "disciple whom Jesus loved" because the source of its traditions. It presumably arose within a "Johannine community", and – because it is closely related a la mode and content to the three Johannine epistles – most scholars treat the four books, together with the Book of Revelation, as one corpus of Johannine literature, albeit not from the identical author.
