A shop sold white, pink and red T-shirts. 24% of the T-shirts were white. There were 198 more pink than white T-shirts. The remaining 114 T-shirts were red. How many pink T-shirts were there

Sagot :

Number of pink T-shirts was 342

How to solve it?

Given: 24% of the T-shirts were white

Let, total number of T-shirts be x

According to question,

Total number of white T-shirts = 24x/100

Total number of pink T-shirt =  24x/100+ 198

Total number of red T-shirts = 114

According to the question:

24x/100+24x/100+ 198 + 114 = x

312 = x - 48x/100

312 = 52x/100

x = (312*100)/52

x = 600

so Number of pink T-shirts :

=(24*600)/100+198

= 144 + 198

= 342

Hence total Number of pink T-shirts was 342.
