Scenario:
After meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin and senior Russian officials the United States national security adviser, John Bolton, has confirmed that the United States will withdraw from the Landmark Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF). The INF Treaty was a “bilateral treaty in a multi-polar ballistic missile world.” The INF Treaty was signed in 1987 by former President Ronald Reagan it banned all American and Soviet missiles with ranges between 500 and 5,500 kilometers (310 to 3,417 miles). During this time, both the United States and the Soviet Union destroyed 2,692 missiles and launchers, which demonstrated the fierce resistance to the deployment of American missiles in Europe. In 2014, the Obama administration accused Russia of violating the INF Treaty by testing and deploying a cruise missile in illegal range. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Ambassador to NATO, warned the United States about the missile stating that there may be a need to “Take Out” the SSC - 8 cruise missile. Russia denied these claims, stating that the missile doesn’t violate the I.N.F Treaty and says that it is the United States that violated the INF Treaty.

The United States hasn’t taken any formal steps but will exit the treaty “in due time.”[1] President Vladimir Putin warns that there will be a new arms race. Stating that if America pulls out of weapons treaties, Russia would respond "in kind" to any new United States missiles placed on European soil, which will place Europe in danger. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, any European countries agreeing to host United States missiles would be at risk of a Russian attack quickly and effectively.
