Sagot :

Either a superb educational experience or a living nightmare can be had in school. I've been bullied ever since I was a young child. I constantly seemed vulnerable to the actions of my cruel peers—pushed down the stairway, a door slamming on my right thumb, kicked in the shins. I was known as a quiet, shy, clever girl who frequently wore a bright smile on her face and who enjoyed telling jokes with self-deprecating humour to my close friends and family. I was fortunate enough to have three best pals in elementary school. We played freeze tag, made up our own fantasy world, complete with fictional best friends who sat next to us at lunch, and developed crushes on the same boy. I spoke more openly and let my emotions out rather than keeping them to myself as usual. I eventually understood that, despite the fact that I might have been unique compared to my peers, I was perfectly normal and had no medical issues. I soon learned that the age-old art of yoga was one of the best ways to cure my anxiety. I found it easier to breathe and felt at ease after stretching my body in various poses and activities, my favourites being Sun Salutations and Deep Child's Pose. I had never felt so content and confident. Through my experiences, I've learnt that speaking up and gaining confidence are the only ways to combat bullying, but more significantly, I've learned to love myself.
