A cultural group that exists harmoniously within a larger, dominant culture is called a Subculture.
A subculture lives in harmonious existence with the b, though it lives differently from it. That being the case, it never opposes its dominant culture. An example of this can be Catholics living in America which has more of Protestant majority.
A dominant culture is a culture whose members are in majority in that particular region whereas a subculture has its members in minority. That being said, a group does not always have to have more majority to rule, they can also do through societal norms as happens in South Africa, where even though whites are less yet they rule.
