Sagot :
The earth’s atmosphere consists of five layers. These layers are exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere and troposphere.
What do you know about the different layers of the atmosphere?
- Troposphere: is the lowest layer of the atmosphere and it extends up to 10km above the sea level. It starts from the ground level. The uppermost layer of the troposphere is the tropopause and the lowest layer is called the boundary layer. It contains 75% of all air present in the atmosphere.
- Stratosphere: it lies above the troposphere. It extends up to 50km above the ground. The ozone layer is present in the stratosphere which protects us from the UV rays of the sun.
- Mesosphere: it lies just above the stratosphere. The height of the mesosphere is around 85 km above the ground. The temperature gets really cold in this layer.
- Thermosphere: in this layer the temperature starts to increase again. It lies above the mesosphere and the satellites orbit the planet earth in this layer.
- Exosphere: The final layer of the earth’s atmosphere is the exosphere. The air from earth leaks a bit in the exosphere and this is where the earth’s atmosphere meets the space.
