These days, children choose to spend time on social media sites on their cellphones and other devices instead of reading books. Many children and teenagers think that a book is a boring object that should be used only for schoolwork or to get information.

Books can open up a whole new world for children. Adventure and science fiction books can improve a child's imagination and creativity. When children read such books, they become part of the adventure. The stories transport them into another world. Children also understand emotions better as they become a part of the main character's journey.

Being totally absorbed in a good story or mystery not only offers children a healthy break from their routine, but also improves their writing skills, vocabulary, and creativity. Thus, books are treasure house of new experiences and knowledge.
