  • hypotonic solution is the   solution  that has a lower solute concentration than the cell so water moves into the cell causing plant cells to swell and animal cells to swell and burst whereas hypertonic solution is the solution that  has a higher solute concentration than the cell so water moves out of the cell and into the solution causing the cell to plasmolyze.
  • During hypotonic solution,  the plant  cell  fills up and become more rigid causes  (turgor pressure) on the other hand animal cell The cell would burst (hemolysis).
