1. Which pair of organizations have you selected?
A:- FBI and NSA
2. Describe the primary goal of each organization.
Answer: Organization 1: NSA
The National Security Agency is responsible for global monitoring, collection, and processing of information and date for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence purpose, a discipline known as signals intelligence (SIGINT).
Organzition 2: FBI
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States.
3. Describe the reasons and circumstances surrounding the founding of each organization. Include anynotes about how the agency has evolved over time.
Answer: Organization 1: NSA
In 1962, President Harry Truman established the
NSA. He created this because after the efforts of
code breaking during WW1 (Japanese and
German). Truman wanted code-breaking to keep
continuing the efforts after the war.
Organization 2: FBI
Attorney General in 1908, issued a memo out
which consisted of describing a “regular force of
agents” which was intended to able to investigate
certain cases within the Department of Justice due
to the United States having an ongoing problem
with crime rates rising and raising.
4. Describe the structure and organization of each of each entity. Make sure to identify where the organization fits within the federal bureaucracy.
Organization 1: NSA
The NSA’s current director is Michael S Rogers
and the deputy director is Richard H Ledgett, Jr.
They then have a Deputy Chief, Executive
Director and a Chief of Staff.
Organization 2: FBI
The FBI is headed by a director who is appointed
by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
The current Director is James B. Comey.
5. Describe the responsibilities and areas of oversight of each organization.
Organization 1: NSA
The NSA leads the Government in cryptology.
They are able to enable computer network
operations to obtain a decision advantage for the
nation and our allies under any circumstances.
Organization 2: FBI
The FBI carries a subdivision for nearly every sort
of major crime they watch out for, while it doesn’t
list the major responsibilities on the website they
each care for and protect for say for
terrorism,white collar crimes, etc.
