I'm doing exponential graphs in math. weve been working on this question:

The sketch shows a curve with equation y = abx where a and b are constants and b>0

The curve passes through the points (1, 14) and (4, 112)

Calculate the value of a and b

PLEASE NOTE: i know the answer is a = 7 b = 2!!

but my teacher has asked to show working that is different from the basics, using simultaneous equation but not the typical way as found online.

the circle highlighted in yellow are the steps commonly found online. But and i quote "See if you can find a different route to the answer, instead of doing it as per the bit in yellow" (see attached image)

I will like and give 5 stars. plus answer with step by step different route gets 40 points
