patty takes the prescription, writes mr. smith’s name on the prescription and hands the prescription to mr. smith telling him to call the office if he has any problems and to schedule a follow-up appointment. mr. smith stops by the pharmacy on his way home and has the prescription filled. the next morning after breakfast, mr. smith takes the lisinopril for the first time. about 10 minutes after taking the medication, mr. smith starts to feel funny and collapses. mrs. smith calls an ambulance, who rushes mr. smith to the hospital. in the emergency room, it is discovered that mr. smith had an allergic reaction to the lisinopril. because of the severity of the allergic reaction, mr. smith had to stay in the hospital for several days.
