solve for X in the equation

Sagot :

The answer is x=-18

There are several ways to solve this. The way I used was first invert the nominator and denominator in both sides of the equation:

[tex]-\frac{5}{9}=\frac{10}{x}\Rightarrow-\frac{9}{5}=\frac{x}{10}[/tex]

Now x is on the top, and is easier to solve it:

[tex]-\frac{9}{5}=\frac{x}{10}\Rightarrow x=-\frac{9\cdot10}{5}=-\frac{90}{5}=-18[/tex]
