Think about the texts from this unit in which authors explored how their identities were impacted by society and those around them. What parts of identity are shaped by other people or by society? What parts of our identity do we choose for ourselves?
In some of the texts you analyzed, the narrators or main characters' identities were not accepted by others or different communities. What are some impacts when our identities are not accepted?
