Please help me revise this conversation for a story im writing

King Pax sat upon his death bed, his children and his friend Sylmer sat and spoke with him. "I suppose you'll have to step up and take some charge Holden." Pax said in a weak voice "I will." Holden replied, his voice shook as tears streamed down his face. "Slymer" Pax called out to his friend "I'm right here" Sylmer answered "please… will you watch over my kids and give them guidence?" Pax requested. Slymer stared in shock for a few seconds and answered "Yes your majesty, of coarse" "Promise me" Pax replied "What?" He questioned "Promise me you'll mentor them, and steer them in the right direction."
