During his eight years in office, Response area issued just four executive orders. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Response area, freeing enslaved people in states rebelling against the United States. In 1942, President Franklin Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066. This confined people of Japanese ancestry into internment camps for the duration of Response area. Executive Order 9981- issued by President Truman six years later- ordered that the United States military Response area its facilities. In 1957, President Response area used an executive order- 10730- to desegregate Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, thereby enforcing the Supreme Court’s ruling in Brown v. Board of Education (1954). In 1961, President Response area issued Executive Order 10924, establishing the Peace Corps. In 2001, President George W. Bush signed Executive Order 13228. This created the Response area, just weeks after the September 11 Attacks on the United States.
