Your statement of philosophy is a description of your goals and beliefs as an early childhood educator. Preparing your philosophy of education will help you to define the emphasis for your teaching and become aware of your own goals and values. This is a statement of personal beliefs and how these beliefs will be put into action in your classroom. Your philosophy will continue to grow and change as you gain experience throughout your career.
Your paper should have at least three reference sources. These sources should be varied. Examples include: professional journal, articles, books, interviews, internet websites, etc. Your philosophy should look professional (typed 2-3 pages), and be clear of any grammatical or spelling errors.
Some guiding questions to consider as you prepare to write your philosophy are:
