What is known as atmospheric layers?

The atmosphere is divided into five layers depending on the distance from earth. The atmospheric layer nearest to the earth is troposphere and then stratosphere on which ozone is present.

Each atmospheric layer differs in the presence of gases, temperature and pressure. Jet aircrafts fly in the stratosphere as it is very stable. Ozone layer absorbs harmful rays from the Sun.
