The direction of electron flow from the anode and the cathode is the when the current is flow in the opposite direction.

An electrochemical cell have the a cathode and an anode. the anode one is the positively charged and the an anode one is negatively charge. so, the electron flow from the anode to the cathode that is the positively charged end to the negatively charged end and the current will flow in the opposite to direction.

The direction of the current is from the cathode to the anode. the electrochemical  cell is non spontaneous and is called as electrolytic cell.
