The ratio of the sides of two similar figures is 2:5 the perimeter of the smaller figure is 14cm what is the perimeter of the larger figure

Sagot :

The perimeter ratio of two figures is 2:5 then the perimeter of the larger figure will be 35cm.

What is ratio?

In data analysis the relation between two variables of similar nature in a similar context measured for showing a technical connection in them is where a numerator is above and denominator is below that number called ratio or rational number. (Ratio = [tex]N /D[/tex])

Here the ratio of two perimeters of two figures is given i.e. 2 : 5 this mathematical expression can be made as follows:

∵ [tex]2x + 5x = 7x[/tex]

If the value of perimeter of small figure = 14 Cm which is equals to [tex]2x[/tex] then the value of [tex]x[/tex] will be 7.

∵ [tex]5x[/tex] = Large figure perimeter

∴ [tex]x = 5[/tex] × 7

= 35.

Hence the perimeter of the large figure is 35cm.
