SABRE, was the first transaction processing system made by IBM for American Airlines, which became operational in 1964. It was designed to process up to 83,000 transactions a day, the system ran on two IBM 7090 computers. This transaction processing system was migrated to IBM System or 360 computers in 1972. It became an IBM product first as an Airline Control Program and later as a Transaction Processing Facility.
