Effective communication between the health care provider and the patient/resident/family is an essential component of quality patient/resident care. Effective communication includes all of the following EXCEPT:
(a) Using clear and accurate communication skills in professional interactions with the interdisciplinary health care team
(b) Increasing the amount of medical terminology used when teaching a patient/resident and family so they can start to learn the medical language
(c) Introducing self to patient/resident and asking permission to participate in their care
(d) Documenting patient/resident assessment or observations, the care provided and the response to that care
