The nervous system is a complex system that plays a role in regulating and coordinating all bodily activities such as walking, swallowing, speaking and breathing. This system works by taking in information from a specific part of the body or area, processing that information, and triggering a reaction, such as making your muscles move, feeling pain, or breathing.
In the peripheral nervous system, nerves connect the central nervous system's responses to your organs and other parts of your body. Like when eating, the motor nerves in the somatic nervous system which is part of the peripheral nervous system will carry information regarding the taste of delicious food to the central nervous system. The central nervous center will process these impulses and then respond by giving orders to move the hands to eat to take the cake and eat it again and again.
