when they went to the new world it took many months and the more it took the more they got sick when they were close to the new world they had already lost many of the families and troops

they faced illness and injury, which was particularly dangerous since it was harder to fight infection back then. they also faced bad weather during war and training. hygiene was an issue and there was said to be rats the size of cats. the British army had to protect their land from being invaded as well as fighting their opposition. many worried that their weapons would be seized. another long term worry that British soldiers faced were mental such as shell shock, which occurred frequently.
