Samuel Slater is often known as "the father of American Industrial Revolution," because he took textile technology to America and expanded it in that country at the end of the 18th century and beginning of 19th century. He was born in the UK but migrated to the recently formed United States of America in 1889, when he was 21 years old. He was responsible for the creation of the first textile manufacturing mills in the US, making of it one of the main industries in the country and this is considered as the beginning of the industrialization process in North America.
