Parallelogram ABCD has vertices A(-2, -5 1/2) B(-4, -5 1/2) C(-3,-2) D(-1,-2). Find the vertices of parallelogram A'B'C'D' after a translation of 2 1/2 units down.

PLEASE HELP ME AND SHOW THE WORK TO GET THE NEW VERTICES! THANK YOU!

Sagot :

In order to move the vertices down you need to subtract 2.5 from the y points. That is my work.
A: (-2, -8)                     -5.5-2.5
B: (-4, -8)                     -5.5-2.5
C: (-3, -4 1/2)                -2-2.5
D: (-1, -4 1/2)                -2-2.5
Ez. Just subtract 2.5 from each Y value. A(-2, -8) B(-4, -8), C(-3, -4.5), D(-1, -4.5)
