Answer: C. Serbs
Explanation: The Ottoman Empire was on Balkan consisted of ethnic groups that were Serbs, Macedonians, Bosnians, Croats in Bosnia, Montenegrins, Greeks, Bulgarians, etc. The First Serbian Uprising of 1804 marked the beginning of the struggle for independence. It lasted until 1813, while the Second Serbian Uprising began in 1815, and lasted about four months. The fighting in both uprisings was conducted in the territory of Serbia. After that negotiations began with the Turks that gradually led to a certain autonomy of the Serbs, who received part of today's territory for their own management. During the nineteenth century, this territory expanded with the weakening of the Ottoman Empire. After the Berlin Congress in 1878, Serbia officialy got statehood, when it was officially recognized by the West as an independent state, although not within today's borders. At the beginning of the twentieth century, more precisely in 1912 and 1913, the Serbs together with the Greeks, Bulgarians, Macedonians and Montenegrins during the Balkan Wars completely defeated the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans.
