Pls help me and don't ignore this:

The annual County Carnival is being held this summer and will last 5 and 1/2 days

You are the owner of the biggest and newest roller coaster called the Gentle Giant. The roller coaster costs $6 to ride. The Operator of the ride must pay $200 for the ride rental and $65 per day for safety inspection. If you want to make a profit of at least $1,000 each day, what is the minimum number of people that must ride the roller coaster? Write an inequality that can be used to find the minimum number of people,p, that must ride the roller coaster each day to make the daily profit and solve.
I'm so sry this is long but pls help

Sagot :

The annual county being held for 5 and 1/2 days is just extra info you dont to know. Just use the rest of the info already given. It says the ride needs to make 1000 "at least" so put 1000 on the right side of the equal sign. And now it says the operator has to pay safety inspection and the ride rental fee so add $65 with $200. So you need to now put the variable p somewhere in the equation. It gives you that each person has to pay 6 dollars. so you can put 6p in the equation. (sorry if all this sounds wierd but its easier to explain face to face) Now in the final equation your left with "6p+265=1000". so now you just move everything to the right side and leave the p behind and you have the equation for p :)
