How can you use mean, median, range, and mode in real life and in a classroom? (explain)

Sagot :

For example:
4,5,6,1,5,6,8,9,5
Median means the middle so that means you order them
1,4,5,5,5,6,6,8,9 the median is 5
Range means the biggest take away from the smallest 9-1
The range is 8.
Mean means add all the numbers together and divide by how many there are so
1+4+5+5+5+6+6+8+9=49 divided by 9 = 5.44

To use it in a real life situation in the classroom, take all the students and line them up by their height.   If you have 5 students for example

58",60",61",62",62",

add them together and divide by 5 to get the mean (average)

so 303 divided by 5 = 60.6  That is the mean

median is the number exactly in the middle of the list from lowest to highest

median = 61"

mode is the number that occurs the most often

So mode= 62"

Range is the difference between the highest and lowest number

range = 4"
