Nicholas II was the last tsar of Russia under Romanov rule. His poor handling of Bloody Sunday and Russia's job in World War I prompted his resignation and execution.  

Nicholas II was born on May 6, 1868 in Pushkin, Russia. He acquired the royal position when his father, Alexander III, died in 1894. Despite the fact that he had faith in autocracy , he was inevitably compelled to make a chosen legislature. Nicholas II's treatment of Bloody Sunday and World War I exasperated his subjects and prompted his abdication. Bolsheviks executed him and his family in July 16-17, 1918, in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
