Alfred Wegener was the first man to discover the mid-ocean ridge and to come up with the concept of seafloor spreading. He did this by pointing a SONAR machine towards the bottom of the ocean instead of forward and it recorded the different heights of the seafloor.
The person that discovered the mid ocean ridge was Alfred Wegener. He also discovered Pangaea. He made the theory of Continental drift.
