The Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) was established in November 1874 in Cleveland, Ohio. After Frances Willard assumed control administration in 1879, the WCTU ended up one of the biggest and most powerful ladies' gatherings of the nineteenth century by extending its stage to crusade for work laws, jail change and suffrage.
