The members of the Third Estate were the common people of France and they were dissatisfied because of the extreme poverty and hard times they were forced into. They were forced to pay heavy taxes to support the nobility and were consistently starving. Most of the common people couldn't even  afford bread and were forced to eat grass to survive.
