The process of gradual withdrawn of American troops from Southern Vietnam and to train and equip Southern Vietnamese soldiers to combat North Vietnam is called Vietnamization. This process ignite tensions in South Vietnam because there were large troops of Northern Vietnam soldiers in the south and to leave the southern part in these conditions would be led to the advantage of Northern Vietnam, who ready to attack as soon American forces would withdraw.
